Shrapnel from a stray shell changed the life of a child and stole many years from her. Intisar, when she was young, was hit by war shrapnel that robbed her of her childhood face, changing her features and causing her to lose half of her hair. Her family was unable to afford the cost of treatment, leading them to risk their child's life and use a second-hand skin graft that successfully restored her hair to its natural state. Intisar now needs seven laser sessions to treat the remaining large scars so she can return to school without feeling different from the other children.
