Bassem's family experienced a lot of bitterness and torment. The family miraculously survived the earthquake disaster, and soon after another torrent that swept their city because they lived in a humble basement. The family of six tried hard for many months to repair what was left of their home until a massive fire broke out in the building devouring what remained of their possessions and even destroying the old memorabilia that they kept and carried with them when they left Syria. As the days passed, the tragedy of this family was renewed after accumulating a lot in debt under stifling economic conditions. Bassem suffers from a joint disease that prevents him from doing hard work. He wishes he could send his son Muhammad to work, but Muhammad’s late mental state prevents that. The darkest nightmare that haunts them is to be expelled from the house because they did not pay rent for the past three months. Your donation will restore this family’s sense of security and reassurance again after they lost it for many years.
