Young Jamal lives with his family in a two-room house, unfit for living due to the dampness and mold that has taken over. Yet, they are forced to endure these harsh conditions because of their financial hardship and the challenges of daily life. Jamal’s life is made even more difficult by a host of severe health issues. He suffers from severe cerebral atrophy, exhibits signs of autism, experiences frequent epileptic seizures, and has muscle atrophy in his legs that prevents him from walking. He also struggles with speech difficulties and an inability to talk, living in a state of constant convulsion. Despite their limited means, Jamal’s family strives tirelessly to care for him and meet his needs. But now, he desperately requires a wheelchair and numerous medications to ease his suffering.
