Mohammad and his family’s joy at the liberation of their village in Homs was short-lived. While hurrying back from Lebanon to reunite with the land he had been separated from for years, Mohammad suffered a devastating car accident that caused a cervical spine fracture. This left him facing the terrifying reality of quadriplegia. He urgently needs immediate surgery to relieve the pressure on his spinal cord and save his life. Mohammad’s family lives in dire humanitarian conditions after years of displacement and hardship. They reside in a small tent that lacks the basics of a dignified life. Returning to Syria has only worsened their situation, and they are now completely unable to afford the medical treatment Mohammad desperately needs. The family’s emotional state continues to deteriorate as their hopes of joy and freedom are overshadowed by Mohammad’s suffering. Their cry for help now seeks compassionate hearts to save Mohammad before paralysis becomes his permanent reality.
