Six years ago, Uncle Hasan was forced to leave his home, land, and dreams, seeking refuge in a simple tent. With no roof to protect him from the summer heat or winter cold, and no work to support himself, his illness has left him unable to earn a living. He relies on his children, who work low-paying jobs that barely cover a few days of food for the family, leaving them struggling for the rest of the month. Uncle Hasan suffers from severe mitral valve regurgitation and urgently needs heart surgery. Doctors have warned that his life is in danger if he doesn’t first undergo a diagnostic cardiac catheterization. However, the cost of treatment is an overwhelming barrier.
