Mohammed, a humble young man, was detained by the oppressive regime without charges. Under the weight of physical and psychological torture, he was forced to confess to crimes he knew nothing about. Thus, in the eyes of his captors, Mohammed, the peaceful youth, became a "criminal." After enduring brutal torture at Palestine Branch, he was transferred to Adra Prison, where he spent many long years. With the fall of the regime, Mohammed was released and returned to his village, hoping to reclaim some semblance of his former life. What he found, however, was devastating: his home burned and looted, and no trace of what he had left behind. During his imprisonment, Mohammed contracted tuberculosis, which continues to plague him to this day.
