Hassan endured a long journey of displacement in the Mashhad Ruhin camps, living under harsh conditions. When he returned to Ma‘arra, he found his home in rubble. Charitable people offered him a partially destroyed house that does not protect from the summer heat or winter cold, forcing him to make small repairs despite his limited means. Hassan works as a health worker with a modest monthly income that barely covers his family’s needs. With each passing day, his suffering grows; caught between financial hardship and his inability to repair the house. The experience of displacement, followed by returning to a destroyed home, has left a deep emotional impact on Hassan and his family, whose only dream is to have once again a safe home that brings them together.
