After years of displacement, Samer’s family has returned to Syria only to find themselves without a home or any form of stability, having left everything behind. Their first night back was especially difficult. With no shelter available, they were forced to spend their remaining savings on temporary accommodation. The hardship did not end there, in desperation, the mother eventually had to sell what little possessions remained just to keep a roof over the family’s head. Today, 11 family members are living under severe financial strain with no source of income. They continue to search for work and safe housing, while their limited savings steadily run out. A family starting over from nothing, now urgently in need of support to regain stability and security.
